Obedience To Our Parents

2    Parents may know us better than we do ourselves

Our parents may know us better than we know ourselves. All along we are growing up, our parents are observing us on a twenty- four hour schedule. They get to know our temperaments, our likes and dislikes, our inclinations, etc. On the contrary, science has it for a fact and so does our holy book, The Quran, that a human being continues to operate in a maze of uncertainty until the age of forty  years unless one is blessed with special guidance from Allah (S.W.A). Forty years is the age of full maturity according to Allah (S.W.A) (46:15). This means that before forty years of age, we still need parental guidance. One begins to completely be sure of what he/she wants to do at around this age. This is the time one is sure about what he/she can and what he/she can not do. At this time man acquires some kind of certainity about the direction of his life. Before that , we need  good counsellors, and these are our parents. They can counsel us on any subject, and if they are unable, they know just where to find help. Be safe;confide your troubles with your parents; they know best.
